March 21, 2019 – Carol Wilhoit

“Spring Clean and Organize your Sewing Room”

Carol Wilhoit, a retired physician, has been quilting for 40 years and teaching quilting for about 10 years.  She will present a spring-cleaning program called “Get your Stash Together:  Organization for Quilters.”  She’s received rave reviews from some of our members who have already seen one of her presentations.


April 11, 2019 – Pride of the Prairie’s 35th Anniversary Celebration (one week earlier than our normal third Thursday due to church calendar)

The guild will celebrate its 35th Anniversary with a party and historical memories of the founding and maybe even some photos of early meetings, quilt shows, and member accomplishments.


May 16, 2019 – Kevin the Quilter

Kevin will present a lecture entitled “Kevin the Quilter makes Something from Nothing!”  He will also be teaching a workshop on Friday and will teach us how to make a Crazy Crumb Star Quilt.  Sign-ups for the workshop will be taken at guild. (see workshop tab)


June 13, 2019 – Picnic (one week earlier due to VBS at church)


July 18, 2019 – Bonnie McCaffery

Bonnie will present a lecture entitled “The Zen of Quilting”.  A workshop will also be held called “DoodleZenDots”, which will incorporate thread work and paints. (see workshop tab)


August 15, 2019 – Beth Hunter

Beth Hunter of I Have a Notion ( joins us for a lecture entitled “Thread, It’s What Holds it All Together”.  A workshop will also be held on Thread Play.  (see Workshop tab)


September 19, 2019 – Toby Lischko

Toby will present a workshop entitled “I’m Seeing Stars”. A workshop will also be held entitled  “Northern Lights”, a beautiful kaleidoscope star quilt.


October 17, 2019 – Julie Letvin

Julie will present a lecture entitled “My Journey from King-sized to Miniature”.  Julie has been featured at the Iowa Quilt Museum and will bring miniature quilted jewelry, handy boxes made of old yardsticks, patterns and more.


November 21, 2019 – Gail Stepanek

Gail, an award winning quilter will present a lecture entitled “Flying by the Seat of my Pants” and a trunk show that is sure to inspire us all.

Holiday Make and Take


January 16, 2020

Annual Holiday Party.  We want you to bring the first quilt you ever made and what you feel is your best quilt.  We hope to do a display or show and tell that lets us each share our quilting journeys.


February 20, 2020 – Kathy Herbach

Kathy will present a Trunk Show for us and she’ll follow that with a workshop entitled “Beyond Basics Binding”
