Kevin will present a lecture entitled “Kevin the Quilter makes Something from Nothing!” He will also be teaching a workshop on Friday and will teach us how to make a Crazy Crumb Star Quilt. Sign-ups for the workshop will be taken at guild. (see workshop tab)
June 13, 2019 – Summer Picnic
Ladies, mark your calendar for Thursday, June 13th (week early due to schedule at the church).
We are planning some fun activities. Here are the details.

Food: Main dish will be supplied. Potluck on sides and desserts

Last names I-P Salad (includes Pasta Salad, Not potato salad see Q-Z)
Last names Q-Z Sides other than salad (Baked beans, fruit, Potato Salad, etc.) Drinks
We would like everyone to bring $3. The money will be donated to a local food bank. Sign up by emailing Lynn at firstname.lastname@example.org by June 5th or at the May 16th guild meeting.
Our June 13 picnic will not include a show and tell sharing time. Please plan to bring your latest creations to our May or August meetings instead

The Zen of Quilting
Bonnie McCaffery’s quilts have been seen in such publications as Quilting Arts, American Quilter Magazine, Quilting International, Quilter’s Newsletter Magazine, and Craftworks. She is the author of “Fantasy Fabric: Techniques for Layered Surface Design”, “Fantasy Floral Quilts: Creating with Silk Flowers” and “Portrait Quilts: Painted Faces You Can Do”. You might recognize her from her appearances on Simply Quilts and The Quilt Show. Bonnie specializes in kaleidoscope quilts, free form applique quilts, dimensional quilts, layered quilts, Fantasy Fabric, Fantasy Floral quilts, Painted Faces for BEGINNERS and her newest venture – DoodleZenDotZ which combines doodles, bobbin embroidery & dots of paint for a beautiful effect.
August 15, 2019 – Beth Hunter
Beth Hunter of I Have a Notion (ihaveanotion.com) joins us for a lecture entitled “Thread, It’s What Holds it All Together”. A workshop will also be held on Thread Play. (see Workshop tab)
September 19, 2019 – Toby Lischko
Toby will present a workshop entitled “I’m Seeing Stars”. A workshop will also be held entitled “Northern Lights”, a beautiful kaleidoscope star quilt.
October 17, 2019 – Julie Letvin
Julie will present a lecture entitled “My Journey from King-sized to Miniature”. Julie has been featured at the Iowa Quilt Museum and will bring miniature quilted jewelry, handy boxes made of old yardsticks, patterns and more.
November 21, 2019 – Gail Stepanek
Gail, an award winning quilter will present a lecture entitled “Flying by the Seat of my Pants” and a trunk show that is sure to inspire us all.

Holiday Make and Take

Annual Holiday Party. We want you to bring the first quilt you ever made and what you feel is your best quilt. We hope to do a display or show and tell that lets us each share our quilting journeys.

Kathy will present a Trunk Show for us and she’ll follow that with a workshop entitled “Beyond Basics Binding”
