Philanthropy

We were able to donate another 25 quilts to Camp Hope in July, that was a total of 50 quilts we donated to support their camp for Children with cancer & their siblings. Our Guild deserves a BIG HURRAH to accomplish that donation. Also on Aug. 10, I took another 12 quilts to the Joliet Hospice. On Friday, I received 7 more donation quilts from my Bee members. We have 120 completed stockings for our Military Service Soldiers. 105 of the stockings were completed at the Cedar Lake Retreat, Yeah!!!!!! I still have some kits available, but you would need to provide the batting. Also, I have been informed that they do not need to be “quilted”. The stockings will need to be turned in by the September Guild meeting. At the retreat, we were able to make several dog beds from our scraps, so remember to save your scraps of fabric & batting. Please continue to save your “UPC” codes from the Hobbs batting & turn them into us at the Guild meetings. We will always have quilt kits & quilts that need to be “quilted” at our table at the Guild meetings. Stop by & check out what is available. We also accept any quilts that you have made at home to deplete your stash. Thanks to all those who participate in these endeavors to help others.
