A Message from Lolly & Lisa
I want to thank all of the ladies who have made some Christmas Stockings for our donation to our military personnel serving away from home. I already have 100 completed stockings. Also the feedback from the people who have made them is that they like the easier directions & the simpler style (no batting & no quilting). Please pick up 1 or 2 of the precut kits at our table at the next meeting. Last year we donated 400 stockings.
We donated 21 quilts to Camp Hope at Edward Hospital for their day camp. They are only
having one session this year so the other “kid” quilts will be given to Ronald McDonald houses.
We are hoping to gather some patriotic lap quilts for several hospices. They are now seeing many more Vietnam Vets needing their services.
As always we are in need of Long Arm Quilters to quilt some of the quilt tops for us. The batting & backing will be provided. Also we are accepting “scraps” to make doggie beds.
We would like to thank everyone who contributed to our successful year of donating quilts & Christmas stockings.

* 12 Quilts & 20 pillowcases donated to the Ronald McDonald House at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, IL.
March 2018 — 14 Quilts donated to Angel Grace Hospice of Bolingbrook, IL.
We are currently working on more quilts for “360” Youth Services. They need larger quilts for teenagers, both boys and girls. They also serve the LGBT community and youths who have aged out of Foster care. We are always in need of “Longarmers” to help to quilt the larger quilts.
I have cut & packaged 200 Christmas stocking kits to make for our donation this Oct. I have simplified the directions since the stockings DO NOT have to be quilted. I also ask that you use the stocking that I have cut as a pattern & make several more stockings from your own Holiday fabric.
We have received a request for some patriotic wheel chair quilts. About 36″ x 48″.
We will be donating another 50 quilts to the Camp Hope Project in July. Those quilts should be about 36″ x 48″.
We are always happy to accept unwanted fabric & batting that we will use for the donation quilts.
Please continue to save your “UPC” codes from the Hobbs batting & turn them into us at the Guild meetings. We will always have quilt kits & quilts that need to be “quilted” at our table at the Guild meetings. Stop by & check out what is available. We also accept any quilts that you have made at home to deplete your stash. Thanks to all those who participate in these endeavors to help others.
